Teddy Bears Picnic

We have been looking forward to our Teddy Bears Picnic all week! We made Honey Crackles (Because bears love honey).  We also had tiny teddys and gummy bears - Yum!  We invited Highbank and Bushside to join us.  We played "Wake up Father Bear" and sang some songs too.  Finally we took them on our Bear Hunt.  What a fun way to finish the week in Staveley.

Going on a Bear Hunt

We went on a Bear Hunt!!  We had to go through:
  • long, green grass - swish, swish
  • a deep, long river - splish, splosh
  • thick, oozy mud - sqelch, squelch
  • a cold, windy storm - woo, hoo
  • a deep, dark forest - stumble, trip
  • a dark, scary cave -  tip, toe
Then we saw.......a cold, wet nose....... two big, dark eyes.... two soft furry ears...It was....A BEAR!!!

We ran out of the cave, through the forest, through the storm, into the mud, through the river, back through the grass, into the classroom, shut the door! Phew!  We are not going on a Bear Hunt again!

Painting our Bears

It was so much fun to get the paints out.  We used a special brush technique to make the paintings look furry.  We will publish our artworks once they are dry and mounted on the wall, so stay tuned :-)

Hockey Fun!

We were so lucky to have Michelle, Denise and Joyce come and teach us Hockey skills.  We learnt the correct way to pick up a hockey stick and we had a real game!  We all tried really hard!

Here we are getting into position.

Lining up to attention!

Game on Green Team

We are Hockey Pro's!

Shaking hands at the end.

"Good game!"
